Basin 15 Lift Station

Basin 15 Lift Station

The Basin 15 Lift Station is a key infrastructure project supporting the long-term growth and development of Sioux Falls, enabling future expansion into the city’s northwest corridor. Designed for reliability and capacity, the station features four high-capacity submersible pumps capable of lifting wastewater from 50 feet below grade to surface level, where it can continue by gravity to the city’s Wastewater Treatment Plant.

To safely construct the 200' x 200' excavation area to a depth of 45 feet, including eight feet of rock removal, a robust dewatering system is being implemented to manage groundwater. Strategic internal structural bracing is also being added after mid-height concrete placement, allowing for early backfilling, improved site safety, reduced work-at-height exposure, and better water control throughout construction. With modern safety and operational features, this facility is being built to efficiently handle increased wastewater flow for decades to come.
