Performance Pet Products Expansion

This $20.7 million expansion project for Farmers Union Industries enhanced the Performance Pet Products facility in Mitchell, South Dakota, with a 31,200 sq. ft. addition completed in September 2024. The upgraded space includes an ammonia machinery room, freezer, refrigerated storage, dry storage, and specialized pet food processing equipment to support increased production capacity.

The project also featured renovations to existing food processing areas, expanded site parking, and significant upgrades to the facility’s wastewater pretreatment system to accommodate higher flow volumes. Designed for efficiency, food safety, and future growth, this expansion strengthens Performance Pet Products’ ability to serve the growing pet food market.
