Richmond Dam Spillway Replacement

Richmond Dam Spillway Replacement

Project updates can be found here for the Aberdeen community.

This project includes the replacement of the existing spillway at Richmond Dam located at Richmond Lake, SD, where seepage has compromised the structure and created downstream risk. The new construction consists of a spillway system supported by a seepage cutoff wall ranging from 40 to 107 feet deep, designed to stabilize the dam and prevent further water migration. Once complete, the improvements will provide a long-term, reliable structure that enhances safety, preserves the integrity of the dam, and supports the continued recreational use of Richmond Lake for fishing, boating, camping, and surrounding residences.
