First United Methodist Church - Pierre

This project is a 22,000 square foot addition to the historic First United Methodist Church in Pierre South Dakota. Journey Construction joined the project team early in the programming and schematic design stage of this project. Working with building committee members and the design team Journey Construction provided comprehensive and accurate budgeting, constructability reviews, and detailed scheduling and phasing plans. Congregational members knew, at all times, the magnitude of funds needed to be raised, when construction activities would interlace with church events, and how construction operations would guaranty safety of members while excavating a basement expansion immediately adjacent to their main entrance. The addition provided offices, kitchen, classrooms, and a fellowship hall while minimizing construction disturbances to this active community church.
